First Check out the Printer Status
The default print driver may have changed from the driver you installed to another driver like Web Services for Devices (WSD) driver with a similar name. Now change the default print driver to your originally installed driver and make sure that the printer is not set for offline use. Follow some steps to check the status of the printer and to set the default printer:
- Click on Start and in the search box type Devices and Printers.
- Then click on Devices and Printers. After that click on your printer and check status whether it is online or offline.
- Now right-click on the printer icon and click on see what’s printing.
- Next click on the printer and you can see there a checkmark on use printer offline.
- Click on unchecked use printer offline to use printer online.
- Make sure you have selected the HP printer as a default printer.
Reset the HP Printer
By resetting the printer you can restore a connection to the computer.

Restart your Printer Spooler Services
- Press Windows+R key, the Run dialogue box will appear on the screen. In the Run box type services.msc and then hit Ok.
- Navigate to the printer spooler and stop services and restart it again.
